Local Spotlight: Guava to the People

Dr. Viv recommends Guava to the People’s authentic Cuban pastelitos for this week’s local spotlight. She swears these yummy Cuban guava pastries taste just like the ones she would eat every weekend growing up in Miami!

Guava to the People is a Capitol Hill based not for profit partnership “run by two QTPOC Cubanas baking pastelitos to feed protestors and raise funds for the revolution”. Vegan guava pastelitos and non-vegan guava and cheese pastelitos are available by preorder for pickup in Capitol Hill at their website here. Check out their list of donation recipients and find Black Lives Matter Resources at their website and read coverage about their work here.

  • Seattle COVID-19 Resources: hub of community, city, county, state, and federal resources from food access to rent and utility assistance and support for independent artists. Some of these programs and services are available to everyone regardless of where you live.
